11 Years.....Honestly, I can not picture my life with out him... He is the best husband.. Kind, hard working, honest, hottest, sweetest, did I mention hottest?? lol! He took me to out to lunch at my favorite Chinese place..Hunan Village....then we went and checked into the Hampton Inn... He got a room with a huge jetted tub...:) Then we went to TL Steakhouse...I had the best time ever...It was like when we were first married...He still takes my breath away... I love you... and am IN love with you Mr. Ryan Hansen!! I am so blessed..Thank the good Lord for a great marriage!

My Christmas day was a quiet one...For the first time...it was just us:me, ry and the kids...My parents were not able to make it. It has been a family tradition to wake the kids...read the Christmas story found in Luke...then wait for my parents to show up...then share our Christmas with them...but his year...as you may know...my dad is not doing well. He only leaves the house to go to dialysis...and that is about it...It is hard to think about this being his last Christmas with us...I was blessed...however....about 5 that night...to get a phone call that said my dad and mom were on their way!! Yay!!! So we had a nice dinner together and showed grandpa all the fun stuff we got for Christmas.. :) I hope you all had a blessed Christmas with the ones that mean the most to you!!

The kids did a very good job at our churches performance! It was called "Christmas Delights". Jurney and Sherri are at the piano getting ready to play a special. Jaden, Joshua and the Montoya boys are saying a Christmas poem.

Jurney!!! I love this girl!! She is 16!! Yes, I am having a hard time accepting this! haha!!

She is a help to me and to anyone who needs it. She babysits. She is one of the piano players for our church. She is driving (still learners permit, but I am in NO hurry to move that along!). She is now allowed to wear mascara. She is a real blessing to me! Love you Jurney, and I hope that you had a very Happy Birthday!

Joshua!!! He is 4 years old... Where did the time go?? I would have to say in the last 6 months...He has really grown up..

He loves to answer the phone (Joshua Hansen speaking, he thinks that is his real name...it is so cute...)

Other things he loves to do are: cooking, praying, bossing Josiah around, playing with the kids at school, singing songs from church (he does this at the grocery store even), giving loves to his grandpa and grandma, learning, helping his dad with just about anything, and wrestling with his big brother Jaden.

His eye is doing well, in fact we will be going for our 6 month out appointment with the surgeon sometime this month!

My dad is coming home!!! YEAH!!! Of course the Rehab Center does not want him to go home...(they want to put him into long term nursing care) ...no, they would prefer that my mom and dad pay thousands a day out of there pocket..who can afford that?? Not them..Not me! So, my dad will go home this FRIDAY!!!

I am soooo super happy!

Ryan and I took the little boys to the park the other day....It was so much fun! Why do I not do this type of thing more often? Joshua instantly made friends with some kids who were busy building sand castles...and Josiah just ran here and there trying to figure out what he could climb on all by himself! We only stayed for maybe 25 minutes, but the boys had a blast! Sometimes you get so wrapped up in the everyday business of life, that you forget to just "ENJOY" what God has given you! In this case, it is my children! As school time approaches, I am truly thankful for the summer break that I had with my kids! Not to mention, the "wake up and smell the coffee" reminder.....(drum roll please) that just because school is going to start and I am going to be so busy, well, it does not mean that I can not stop and smell the roses!

Man's Best Friend

This is Yoshi...my dad's best friend! My dad had not seen him since July 4Th when he went to the hospital! My dad felt so bad, because Yoshi was more interested at sniffing everywhere then sitting and loving on him. So I told my dad that I would try to bring him more often.

The summer is coming quickly to an end! I have had a nice break. I am now at the school every morning trying to get all my ducks in a row for the 1st day!

So many things have happened:

*Ryan graduated from college

*Ryan got a job that he LOVES!

*My dad lost his leg and almost his life

*Jurney is getting good at driving!

*Josiah can sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

*I lost 32 pounds and I plan to keep at it

*Jaden is officially a TEENAGER!

*Joshua is graduating nursery at church...

I am BLESSED!!!! I am going to head into the new school year with a different thought...

I am going to LIVE!

Sometimes you stop and you realize that the way you see everything has changed...and not for the good.

I am going to seek God in all that I do....I am going to Praise HIM and always give thanks!

Doesn't this look good? Joshua decided to make his dad some breakfast. This is some Kix cereal mixed with one part water 2 parts peach tea! Ryan was like...ew....looking at me like do I really have to eat that? No, you just act like you are happy and that is the best breakfast you have ever had...meanwhile I dumped it down the drain and destroyed all evidence! He did this act of kindness just after Ryan got his temporary job.

Joshua is fast approaching 4 years old. He is also extremely independent!! The other day he made himself some cereal on a plate with some coffee creamer, then ate it with a fork! How much fun!!

I love my dad. He has been in Ogden Regional going on 20 days. He just had his 3rd and I pray final surgery. It all started near the end of June... My dad had a sore on his foot (being a diabetic, this is common). He was going to wound care and dialysis. Well, one day they were kept late at a dialysis appointment..they spaced my dad's wound care appointment.. only to realize that the doctor had gone a vacation for several days...almost 2 weeks go by..My dad is very sick...my mom looks at his foot and notices that it may need immediate attention. She takes him int0 a everyday "horse doctor". He says yep...that's gangrene..take these pills...see ya later...I tell my mom that she needs to get him back up to wound care stat! Well, due the holiday they can not see my dad for four days...my dad was so sick with infection that he had to be taken, 2 days later, to the ER in Logan..they send him straight to Ogden Regional where the real mess begins...

Now we try to move on to healing...I wish that it did not come to this, but it did. I would like to tell you all the medical mistreatment my dad received along the way..but I am so tired....so worn out...that I can only talk about the here and now. They really want my dad to go to another "rehab center...a.k.a. NURSING HOME...where they can "help him" get better.. I know that there is no getting better for my dad. He is at the end of his life...he is tired of fighting....I want more than anything to help get my dad home...where he can die with the respect that he deserves! I love you dad!!! I will fight for you to the end!

JOSIAH!!! Today he is 2! I just am amazed at how time flies. Josiah is growing up very quickly! I will tell what he has been up to. He is now potty trained. (we started this during Christmas break) He runs everywhere! (My Pastor calls him "short stop", cause he is NON-STOP!) He loves to read books. He likes to scream. (I do not like this part at all :)) He feeds himself. Sleeps in his own big boy bed. Talks up a storm (I call it speaking French!) He loves his daddy. He is a morning person. He loves drinks! (watch it, if you set your drink down) He loves playing with his best friend and brother Joshua. He goes out side when ever the wood door is left open. He likes the water. He says his own prayers.(that is my favorite) I could go on and on, but I will leave you with this.. I just love this little guy!

~Senior Formal~

These are some pictures of Jurney and Jaden. They had the opportunity to go to the Olive Garden and to the Utah Symphony. The kids like to call this the "Senior Formal". We do not do "the prom" so this is just a way for the kids to be able to get all decked out and practice their etiquette. This is Jaden's first time... he wanted to be able to rent a tux.. we told him, that would be fine, but you must earn the money yourself. So he did.. He earned enough money to pay for the tux, his dinner, and change left over! Jurney already had a very nice dress that she was given awhile ago..(Thank You Mrs. B.) So her goal was to get an up-do... Well, she also found several jobs around town to earn the money.. She was able to earn money for her hair, dinner, and some change to spare!
They had a great time. I am thankful for the blessing that my children have to be brought up in the Lord!

First TIME....

This will be Jaden's first time to wear a tux. He will be going to a Senior Formal. They go out to the symphony and to a fancy restaurant. Jurney will also be going to this event. This will be her 3rd time.. I will posting pictures of them next week.. Jurney has a very beautiful dress... Man, my kids are really growing up..

Day 2!

This is day 2 for Joshua. He had his 6Th eye surgery, yesterday at the Moran Eye Center is SLC. His surgeon was Dr. Patel. I would tell you his first name, but I do not even know how to pronounce it! ;)

The surgery lasted for maybe and hour.. It seemed like way longer, but that was just me being a mom!

Joshua had a very hard time the first 24 hours.. He would not open his eyes at all. This concerned me because he only had the left eye done this time.

But Praise Be to GOD! He woke up this morning and about an hour or so into the morning he wanted to eat and watch a movie.. So we told him that he would have to open his eye first! Here's hat he looks like today. He looks very good.

We have to keep him down for the first week to make sure he does not over do it.. I thought... do they know that they are talking about MR. JOSHUA who learned how to run not walk?? Thank you to all who have prayed on his behalf.. God is good and does answer prayers!

The Eye Doctors

This is Joshua at Dr. Hoffman's office. Joshua has been seeing Dr. Hoffman since he was 5 days old. Joshua is going to be having his 6Th eye surgery on February the 26Th. On the way to the eye appointment he kept telling me ..."Momma, my eye is okay,".. The doctor and the surgeon told him that we were going to get his eye fixed.. So now he says that his eye is broken! I am praising God for the chance to raise my children to follow and trust in God. Joshua the other night at church, raised his hand for prayer request.. Pastor looked and him and said "Yes, Joshua?" Joshua just said, "Pray for my eye surgery!" What a blessing! I love this little guy!

"This is my Father's World" this last Sunday at church. It was a real treat to hear them sing. Jurney even called Michael, the night before, so that his tie could match her dress! Jurney loves to sing. She is trying to talk me into singing a Special with her.. one day I will.. My voice has been on the fritz for a while now, so I have to find the right song. Guess I had better get searching for it! :)

We went out for my brother Ben's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUDDY!!) dinner down in Ogden.. His little girl Lilly falls over.. and Rylee (Ben's other little girl) and Joshua came to her rescue! They were so eager to help her out! She just laid there smiling...They ended up laughing so hard that they could not get her up.. It was so funny.. We had a fun night of visiting with the family.. As you all know.. I teach at a private christian school at my church.. Things are going great!!! Normally, the babies go to my friend Lara's house for the day, but they are all sick with strep throat... Soooo they have been coming to school with me. I have loved it! They follow the dress code and everything.. Believe it or not.. you barely even know that they are there.. Here they are the morning of chapel.. "Cheese!"

my DAD! Unfortunately, he is celebrating it in Ogden Regional Hospital. Yesterday he fell when he got home from dialysis. My mother had to call 911. They took him to the Brigham Hospital, where they made sure that he was stable and then made the decision to have him transported to Ogden where they could better care for him. He is having many test ran today. Some of which include: CAT scan (to look at his pituitary gland), Echo Cardiogram (to check for fluid around the heart), Upper GI ( to figure out why he always has nausea), and last but not least lots and lots of blood work! Needless to say, We love you and want for you to get better. If he is able to go home today.. we are all getting together at his house for a birthday dinner! Happy Birthday DAD!

My sister Shannon moved to South Jordan.. We have not had any real free time to get down there to see the new place. Well, with it being CHRISTmas break we have had the extra time to get out and about.. While we were down there, we went sledding. It was a blast! EVERYONE enjoyed it. Here is Shannon, Jon, Jaden, and Joshua getting ready to brave another trip down the hill. We then went to a little trendy place and drank really expensive hot cocoa!

Some of the cousins had a sleep over at my sister Carrisa's this week. The kids had a blast.. In the morning me and Ryan joined them for a home cooked breakfast.. It really hit the spot! There was bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs. Yummy. Thanks sister.

Potty Training!

We have started to train Josiah. He is so cute.. I just want to squeeze him! I had to share it with all of you. Here he is clapping; because he just went pee-pee. During Christmas break, we are going to full out train. Right now, we are just getting him use to trying it out. He is almost 18 months. His brother, Joshua, was already trained at this age.

I have been very sick with the flu. It was going around so bad, they cancelled school. That also meant no school for Mr. Joshua. Everyday though, he would ask if he could go. Today.. Praise be to God, I am starting to feel like myself. So we were cleaning.. Joshua comes out of his room looking like this. "Cheese!" he says. He also cleaned his room. I was able to capture this with the camera.

Healing Nicely

Josiah received a 2ND degree burn to his right hand 2 weeks ago from a motorcycle muffler. Our good friend was over showing us his very nice, very new motorcycle. Jaden had set the baby down to admire it and the first thing he does is reach over and touch the hottest part on the bike. He did not cry or anything.. well... not till about 10 minutes later.. Then there was not a thing that you could do to get him to stop. I tried cold water, ice, codeine... NOPE so I took him to the ER. They put some Burn Free ointment on his hand and told me to keep it wrapped and bring him back the next day for a re-check. ( The codeine took about 40 minutes to knock him out!)I did as they said.. Next day they gave me some silver something or other cream and had me put it on 2 times daily and keep it wrapped. That silver stuff is great it took out all the burn except on his palm. Now he is able to use his hand again... It looks great! Praise God that it has healed so well and did not ever get infection.

Joshua! He is 3 years old today!! Man does time fly right by! His favorite color is green. He loves trains. He always wants to pray when we have devotions or bless he food. He is a very busy boy. I took this picture Sunday at Church during his Sunday School class. I just love this guy. He has ran around all day today singing ..... Hapgy bifday to you, hapgy birfday make me cake... It is so cute. While I am teaching at the Academy he is over at a very dear friends house and they made a train cake together today. He had the best time. Dalton Brasel is on his way home right now, as I type, a full fledged MARINE!!! OORAH!

I can not wait to see him. His family left Tuesday, to drive to California to attend his graduation from the MCRD. He left on June 14Th, his graduation was today the 11Th of September. His mother was able to send me a picture message from her phone. So I got a look-see already of how much he has changed. Congrats to Dalton for finishing strong!

33! I keep having to ask Ryan just how old I am.. The other day we had a visitor come to our church. I was talking to her, you know doing the greetings to you type thing.. and she says to me.... Lots is going on. I am now a school teacher at a Private School. Calvary Baptist Academy, I love it! I am so busy now with school things, but it is so good for my kids. They are around other children all the time now. *BONUS* They learn daily the things of God. No one is picked on, no is made fun of. I tell you, it is lots of hard work to be a teacher ! I would not change it for anything!

Jaden! He is now 12. We had a big surprise party for him with my family. What we did was we acted like we were just going to hang out as a family and watch a movie in me and Ryan's room. I turned up the TV all the way and everyone snuck in. When they were all there I told Jaden it was time to eat lunch and we would just have to watch the rest of the movie afterwards. Well when we walked out everyone yelled... SURPRISE! Jaden was so shocked he turned bright red. It was great fun.. Happy Birthday Buddy we love ya!

Now that my dad is back at his own home, the little ones can have their room back.. This time it is CRIBLESS! Ryan spent days glueing this bunk bed set together, then he and Michael set it up. It took them hours, but they wanted to make sure that it was solid! Here is a picture of the boys enjoying the new beds. Josiah has the bottom and Joshua gets the top. They sleep all night on their own beds, in their own room. How nice this is.

This is my dad's original wound. It is all healed and better. He has had a couple on the top of his foot that he has dealt with, but all in all he is doing great! In fact he is doing so well, that he moved back home just last Thursday. My mom is very happy that he is back at home with her! He also was able to get an electric wheelchair that can go about 6MPH and run for 9+ hrs.. Now 6mph may not sound very fast, but when my dad was going down the side walk, I was worried. He was scaring me. :) He loves it though. It gives him freedom that he has not had in a long time. I am going to miss seeing him everyday. Bye dad! Love ya!

Vactions Bible School

This picture was taken the last day of VBS. The kids had a blast. Mr. Jeff and Mrs. Heather come pretty much every summer and do VBS with our church. The theme this year was "Jungle Tales". You know I realized something this week! I have always been a creationist. But I never realized just how important it is to make sure that our young people know that it was GOD who made all things including them. Evolution is being taught all around us. Millions of years is what the kids hear all the time. That is a lie straight from the Devil himself! The world is actually only 6 thousand years young! We wonder why our kids act like animals. Josiah started walking on July 19Th. Me and Ryan were both there to see it. We were sitting in our room and was talking about the day and how it went.. We thought that Josiah was just going to do his usual walk from the bed to the chair (one step) type thing. Nope! He just walked across the room. Me and Ryan just looked at each other with our mouths hanging open! WOW! It took him a very long time to even act like he was going to and then *BAM* He did it! Family Camp Out

**I am going to be posting often for the next while so that I can get caught up to the present (if that is really possible)**

Our church had it's annual family camp out toward the end of July. We stayed at my family's land up in Mantua. This place is called the Jungle! (I have so many memories of family reunions there when I was just a wee one.) Josiah crawled EVERYWHERE. He was so dirty. Anyhow Michael, my Pastor's son found that if you gave Josiah a stick he was content to play for hours. Here he is holding the "STICK". Thanks Michael :) !!

The food was great! The fellowship that we had was a real treat. The preaching really hit home. We had a great time together up there at the Jungle!

We had a very nice night on the 4Th. I know I am now just telling you about it and it's August, but I have been very busy! Joshua loved the sparklers. He is so fun to watch. We took time to think about how great our country is! We are free because of men and women giving their lives for us. I just want to say Thank you to all who have gave their lives for this freedom! Busy, Busy, Busy! Okay where to start. Jurney and Jaden have been at camp this week. I pick them up tomorrow! I miss them like crazy!

Me and Ryan have went on a couple of bike rides. Ryan pulls the babies along in this bike/stroller and I follow along. Last night we rode for 4 miles.. It was mostly up an incline, it was tough, but very rewarding! Jurney has been sick for a while now.. They found out that she has to have her gall bladder removed. We do this on Tuesday at the new Tremonton Hospital! That is all that I can think of for now.. I hope to write more very soon! Oh yeah.. The garden is looking great! I put in a second garden this year. I will have to do pictures soon for you.(when I get them weeded that is! )

DAD UPDATE! My dad is done with Hyperbarics! YEAH~Praise God. His wound is all better and closed up. He still has one wound that is healing nicely. (this one was caused by a doctor wrapping him to tight!) His ankle is healing and we see the doctor next week. he had to have surgery to have a fistula creation started in his left forearm. They do this when they know that you are going to start dialysis soon. My parents are going to be selling their house and moving out here so that I can help when they need me.

Healing!

This is my dad's use to be gangrene wound.. I know that this may look gross, but if you knew what it looked like to begin with .... you would think that it looks great as well! It is healing! YEAH!!! He went in for a skin graph last Tuesday. They also fixed his broken ankle while they were at it.. He is doing so well right now! I am personally praising God for how He has worked at saving my dad's leg. We seen the doctor Monday and he took out the staples and said that the skin has already taken. Wonderful! Praise be to God!

I have to tell you how good my dad is doing in other ways.. He is a diabetic. He has really never had his sugar under control. Well with a little trial and error and God's wonderful help... His sugars are in control! His weekly average is at 132! That is so close to being normal(non-diabetic)! My dad should be all better in a couple of months.. I am hoping that by the fall he will be able to return to work!

For Ryan's Spring Break we wanted to do something that wouldn't break the bank! So we decided to go to the Union Pacific Train Station in Ogden. We had a wonderful time! Joshua absolutely loved the model trains that they had set up in the museum! We took a lot of pictures on the trains outside. The best part was being able to climb on and explore them. We then went out and had dinner. It is wonderful to be able to go out and enjoy the family that God has blessed you with.

In Memory of Aunt Faye

We found out this morning that my Aunt Faye passed away sometime during the night. This picture was taken at my grandmother funeral just a little over 2 years ago. She was such a great aunt. I use to go and stay with her during the summers when I was younger. She always made you feel cool. She did special things for you like take you shopping or out to lunch. She was only 51 years old. Her only son, Bryce is on a mission to Spain. We are all very much in shock.. She was not ill or anything that would make you think that this would be happening. I am truly thankful that God knows everything! He knows the beginning from the end. He is my strength and, I can rely wholly upon Him.

My dad has been very sick now for several months. He had a major heart attack almost a year ago. In December he seen that he had a blister on his foot. 2 days later it it turned to gangrene. He started Hyperbaric Chamber treatments in mid January. His foot is healing nicely.. Then my dad started to have problems with passing out.. He would stand up and a few minutes later.. Down he would go! On Wednesday he went down, but this time he dislocated his ankle (his foot was on backwards after he fell) and broke his leg. He was taken by the ambulance to Brigham Hospital where he was told the only way to fix this is surgery, BUT because of you having gangrene in your foot we can not do anything. Man what a blow. The next day the social worker comes into the room with the head nurse and tells my dad.. We are discharging you, but you have to be put in a nursing home. You are to unstable and need constant care. You can not put any weight on your broken foot at all. Man another blow. Well, this is where I come in! I told my dad I would take care of him. So we got everything arranged and he moved right in. I took this picture last night at 2AM. Josiah is teething and my dad was too hot. So I thought hey take a picture. Since my dad has moved in he has made some great progress. He is doing so much better.

It was delicious! This picture really has nothing to do with what I am posting about, but I like to have a picture. So now that that is over with.....

I am going to update you on how things are going. We as a family started this journey to be a healthier family. We have been doing just that! I am amazed at our progress. I will tell you about Ryan and my progress: Since 1/5/09:

Ryan has lost a total of 22 pounds!

I have lost a total of 36 pounds and a total of 29 and 1/4 inches from my frame! My clothes are loose on me. We are praising Jesus for this wonderful victory! We are going to keep on!

Babysitting or should I say Doggie?

Definitely BABYSITTING! The bottom 2 are my little sister Natalie's; Allister and Isabella and the top one is my my Mother-in-law's Garfield. We had a very interestingly fun time babysitting these three. How does someone get so lucky.. Well, I will tell you. First of all, I have dogs. Next up I don't mind (this always helps) Lastly, I have a knack for taking care of and training dogs. My sister had it arranged that I would watch her dogs way in advance. Her and her hubby were going on a vacation. Then they day before we get the dogs Ryan's mother calls and says that she has to go and stay with her sister for a few days, could I watch Garfield. Well, why not! So we had a lovely week with these little guys. They became the best of friends!

10 Months Today!

Josiah is 10 months old today. Man does time fly by. He is almost a year! WOW! He is doing well. He is finally crawling. I am so excited for this. It is great to have him be mobile. He plays so much better and is over all a happier baby. He was standing in his crib the other day. He has sprouted a tooth. Yes, just one! I have tried to get a photo of this, but with no luck. It is on the bottom right. He says Dada and Mama as well. He grunts when he is eating table food. You just can not feed him fast enough. He loves his brothers and his sister. Last night when Ryan came home from school Josiah was in the walker and started screaming for his dad to come over and pick him up. I am still his favorite, though. :) We are blessed to have this little guy!

Regionals, Jurney's turn!

Well, this last Friday was the final Regionals. This one is for the teens grades 7th-12th. This time it was at Berean Baptist Church in Ogden, Utah. Jurney entered 3 categories. Photography (nature/color), Sketching, and the Spelling Bee. She took 3rd place in all divisions. Jurney takes her camera everywhere. Jurney was very excited that she was able to place at all. Once you get in with the teens the competing level is very advanced. You should have seen some of the things that were entered. I am very proud of how hard Jurney worked on her projects. Next year, Jurney is going to enter in the speech and possibly singing competitions.

Regionals- hard work pays off!

Jaden did very well at Regionals this last Friday. Regionals is where once a year kids from Independent Fundamental Baptist schools come to compete in such categories from art to chess to speeches to quartets. They have from the end of the school year till the next competition to have their projects done. He took 1st place in the Popsicle stick division. He worked on this project for almost 2 months! He made a fighter plane out of the notched craft sticks. It came with very complicated directions. He also competed in checkers. Here he is standing in front of his project. Bridgerland Applied Technology College

This is Lenard.. He is one of Ryan's teachers at Bridgerland. Yesterday we went to a job expo at Bridgerland. They had all different exhibits set up for you to look at. This was one of the demonstrations for the electronics department(Ryan's department). This does not sound that loud, but I tell you.. It made you jump! What they are doing is blowing up a capacitors by giving way more electricity than is needed. Thus the explosion.. Just before we started to record he yelled.. FIRE IN THE HOLE! After we seen this we went up front to where they had their beauty class set up. I had a wonderful hand and arm massage. Jurney received a scalp massage. Ryan and Jaden headed back to the diesel department and ate cookies and enjoyed a coke. We had my friend Stacey watch Joshua and Josiah so that we could have an outing with the older ones.. All in all it was a fun and very interesting time.

My baby is 9 months today.. he is Ryan Jr. for sure.. looks and all! My mom scrap blogged this picture that I took.. He is such a cute little guy! He almost has one tooth (on the bottom). He pulls himself up to things.. He is very close to crawling.. I know.. this really is a good thing to have him not totally mobile yet, but they are so cute when they start crawling! Well, who can believe it has been 9 months already.. NOT me!

I had announced that our whole family was going to be making some big changes and when we had all the kinks worked out I would let you all know what we are up to! Well, it has been one month since we all sat down as a family and decided that we wanted to be a healthy family! So, we now get up and exercise together everyday for 30 minutes. We eat proper portions and best of all we eat healthy foods. What a difference this has made.. Praise God for the discipline He has given to us to see this through!

Progress:

Ryan- lost 12 lbs.!

Me- lost 24 lbs. and 12 1/2 inches gone!

Jurney- lost 3 lbs. and 4 inches gone!

Jaden- working on a six pack

Joshua- well let's face it.. he never quits running.. He is a workout! :)

Man has it been cold.. Our furnace has been on the blitz lately.. We have it running all day long and as soon as we go to bed.. It shuts off! So when we get up it is around 54 degrees in the house..Brrrr... We finally get it going in the morning.. So this is how we have the baby dressed to keep him warm.. Layers.. and then more layers.. Joshua now thinks that when you go to bed, you have to put on two pairs of pants.. Well, we are praising God it ran all night last night! We are also thankful for space heaters and warm clothes. Ryan thinks that it is the thermocouple.. What ever that is.. He is going to fix it this weekend!

It is time.. Josiah has started to pull himself up to the sides of his crib.. To avoid injury, we are moving the crib mattress down... Ryan and Jaden had this done in no time at all. Josiah has nor real interest in crawling.. He could if he wanted to.. he leans over... gets on his knees.. sits back up.. sometimes he falls onto his belly.. a few moments of this and he starts to cry, pick me up.. I do not want to learn how to crawl.. What can you do.. When he wants to go, I am sure he will!

Our pet rat Templeton died yesterday afternoon.

He has been very sick the last couple of weeks.

Jaden is getting ready to go out back and bury him. He lived with us for almost 3 years. He was given to us by my dad. He had bought him to feed to his pet snakes, but the rat put up a good fight and the snakes would not eat him.. So my dad called us up one day and said do you want this rat? Either you take it or I am going to flush it down the toilet.. Well, needless to say we took him.

Well after a long and well needed break.. it is back to work.. Well school work that is! It was a rough start today, but now that I have gotten started it is alright. Schedules are great... they keep things moving! We had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year. Our family has made a very big New Years resolution... The Christmas Program

I was taking pictures of the Christmas Program when I realized that I have a video feature on my camera.. So this is toward the middle end. It is about 2 1/2 minutes long.. They are singing the 12 Days of Christmas.. after the kids sing then someone explains what that day represents. I know some of it is hard to hear. I have it zoomed in on Joshua and Jaden so I could see them better. The best part is toward the end when they are counting down. Watch Joshua.. he knew every word. Mrs. Brasel did a great job on it!

Christmas LIGHTS!

Friday night we went to Brigham City's Christmas Village. It was a lot of fun. Josiah was NOT a happy camper! Jaden's favorite display was the jail one. They had the Grinch in lock up, while the jailers were playing cards.. Joshua realized how much fun the snow is when he wears gloves! Christmas is coming very soon.. It is a wonderful time of year when we celebrate Jesus and His birth.

Hansen Christmas Party

Saturday we headed up to Grandpa and Grandma Hansen's for our family Christmas party.. We had a good time. We ate some chili and exchanged presents. Ryan's brother Roy had our name this year and they gave us Deal or NO Deal. We love to play games and we are looking forward to playing this one.. Thanks Roy and family.

Yesterday evening.. We were able to see just how good God is to us.. Jurney asked if we got the mail yet.. No not yet.. We were just heading out the door to go to Prayer Meeting at Church. Jurney walks in with a red envelope.. she says it's to dad. That's okay.. I take it , open it up, thinking it is just another Christmas card from someone we know.. and it is a check for $200... Wow, God is so good. We have no idea who did this.. I just think about how God wants us to be.. Thinking of others above ourselves. My mouth is still hanging open..

My mother, me, Natalie, and Jurney spent a large part of Saturday baking for Christmas.. We made 32 loaves of Cranberry Nut Bread, 100+ homemade turtles (you know cashews with caramel and chocolate), and a pan of caramel.. It was a very fun and yummy day. Thanks mom, I had a great time with you! The Cranberry Nut Bread is a family favorite that my parents have done since I can remember.

Congrats! to my very good friend Lara and her husband Pat. I just went to see their new baby tonight.. Her name is Elizabeth Rose and she is very cute.Lara said she is a good eater and already wearing 3 month clothing. They are very excited to welcome her to their growing family.. Elizabeth has 1 sister and 4 brothers waiting to meet her. Lara's parents are here from Washington to help make the transition smooth.

My Jurney is 14 today.. Who can believe such a thing? She has become such a beautiful young lady. She is such a great help and blessing to this family. She enjoys cooking, riding her bike, drawing, painting, singing, and just being a girl. She is very smart. She has been looking into college. I can not imagine her being away from us. She is growing up so fast. I am really treasuring these next few years with her. I love you, Jurney! Have a wonderful birthday!

Last night, we went to Berean Baptist Church's annual Musical Potluck. It is a wonderful time that we spend singing, playing musical instruments, and giving praises to God. I am very thankful for God and His mercies that He gives to me and my family each and every day. I praise Him for saving my soul. For showing me how to truly LOVE, through Christ Jesus. I hope that your day is a good one full of thanksgiving. Have a very Thankful Thanksgiving.. God Bless.

Costume Party

Jurney and Jaden had a wonderful time at their Youth Costume party on Saturday. Jurney was a doctor and Jaden was a warrior. Jurney won a prize for best costume. Jaden won the prize for most original costume. Our Church has a great youth group! They have wonderful activities every month. My kids are so blessed to a part of it.

Little Sickies

Let me start from the beginning. The night before last Joshua woke up every 45 minutes crying.. Josiah just cried and whined almost the entire night. Stuffed noses and a cough.. I knew they were sick and I did not want another night like that again. I called and made them an appointment..Oh, you know how it is.. You take your kids to the doctor and they act like they are better. (note the picture) Sure enough, STREP THROAT! I had the doctor give them a shot to get it over with quick. Now, I am starting to get a sore throat and a headache.. Jurney has the same symptoms.. We will see the doctor tomorrow at 10! I will be glad to get this over with before Thanksgiving.

Joshua is so much fun! Jaden was getting his costume ready for our churches youth activity. (it's on November 22, from 11-2, for those of you who are interested!) So, Joshua just picked up Jaden's helmet and puts it on.. So, I go and grab the camera.. "Cheese" he says.. What a cute little boy.

Ryan is now a certified, bonified Solderer. He just got his certificate in soldering. He is so smart! The guys in his class call him "the smart one". I am proud of my husband for going back to school to make a better life for us. He is a great dad, and a terrific husband. Way to go Ryan, for this accomplishment. This is the first of many certificates to come.

My dad put Josiah in a box filled with packing paper. Josiah was loving it, eating it up.. So I took this picture with my dad's camera. My dad loves the way Josiah is making perfect eye contact here.. He is really into grabbing things and shoving them into his mouth.. He brings joy to his Grandpa!

We went to G&G Hansen this weekend.. They fed us a yummy lunch with fresh, homemade, chocolate chip cookies.. Oh they were still warm! Later, Ryan and Jaden helped Grandpa put chains, and the blade on the 4-wheeler. While they were outside working, Grandma was busy doing what she does best! Playing with the grand kids. Joshua just loves his Grandma Hansen. We had a very nice time.

Here is my beautiful Jurney. She is gone on a trip to Chesterton, Indiana. They are having a "Youth Empowered" conference at Fairhaven Baptist College. I am sure she is having a blast. She was so excited to be able to go. Today they are going to the dunes for a fun time. You would not think that having only one of your four children gone would make such a difference. I am here to tell you it does! I love you Jurney, and I can not wait for Saturday. (this is when she will be home!)

Jurney needed some new culottes. I have had this idea that you can take much larger slacks/pants and make them into a box-pleat culotte. Well, I have a sewing machine.. (I really have never learned how to use it yet.) I asked my friend Dana for help. She took them, and like 20 minutes ,BAM! here they are.. It was such a great idea. Jurney looks great in them. Thanks so much Dana!

6 Months Already!

My baby is 6 months old today! Who can believe that? Time has flown by so fast. He is now eating mush, peas, squash, carrots, and pumpkin. He loves to eat! He is in 6-9month clothing. He weighs 14lbs, 24 1/2 inches long. He sits up, rolls over, scoots around.. You name it he is working on it. He has also become very vocal.. He screams when he is mad(not my favorite thing), says DA DA (of course this is Ryan's personal favorite). Yeah, they never say mama.. it is always DA DA. He is our last, and we enjoy him very much. Oh, I almost forgot, he gives big wet sloppy kisses. Happy 6 months to Josiah.

This morning, Ryan and I headed to the polls. It was pouring rain. When we got there, we were fifth in line.. It was all electronic voting, which made me a little nervous. I thought to myself.. Hey if I can blog.. I am sure I can figure this thing out. 5 minutes later we were done. We live in a great country where we are given freedoms to vote and make our voices heard. I encourage everyone to get out and VOTE! You can make a difference.
